We would like to invite you all to a very special Christmas night at SpeakeasyJazz in The Shannon Rowing Club. You may remember last December when The Boudoir Sessions visited and put on a fully themed evening of retro music, costume, fun and frolicks!!
The Boudoir Sessions is a themed event, featuring music, styling and performances from or based on the1920s-1950s. The night has the sound, feel, look and allure of an urban club in the early to mid 20th Century.
Music encompasses the following pre 1960 styles: early jazz and swing (1920s-1930s); gypsy jazz; early bluegrass, be bop; boogie woogie; do-wop; rhythm and blues; jump blues, rock n roll; township jive; mento; calypso; ska.
Décor/aesthetics complement the music,that’s 2 Parts Vintage, 2 parts Boudoir with a dash of the Vaudeville to boot….
The evening will see the Limerick Debut of Chill and Aranos who will be providing the live entertainment, in true Accapella Do Wop Barbershop Stylee
Boudoir Boys. A dastardly dapper pair of DJs with generous helpings of grandpa’s gramophone groovers. Upbeat tunes with character, to swing and sway any discerning dancefloor or laid back zone.
As Djs, the pair have performed at many top boutique festivals around Ireland, including the Electric Picnic (since 2006), Mantua (2006-2008), Irish Green Gathering (2007, 2008) Garden Party (2007). They have supported Julian Marley and also The Wailers.
Boudoir Sessions have held and been held, been cussed and discussed all over. Starting a regular club night in Brogan’s Ennis, on New Year’s Eve 2008/9. Since that opening event, they have performed in at an array of locations and events, including arts festivals, club nights and summer festivals.
